The Lie of Perfection (and the Quiet Power of Imperfect Progress)
Perfection stalls. Action compounds. The quiet, messy path of progress that actually leads to growth — and why God works through the imperfect, not the flawless.
Perfect is the enemy of done.
Choose done.
Improve as you go.
We live in a world addicted to flawless finishes, polished images, and instant success stories. That’s the same feeling of stuck I had when I kept waiting for the right time to sell my crypto, I kept waiting for higher, a better price…and it never is a right time.
But real progress?
It’s rarely beautiful at the start.
It’s messy.
It’s slow.
It’s filled with mistakes, restarts, unexpected detours, and moments of doubt.
Waiting for perfect conditions is one of the most subtle ways we procrastinate.
We tell ourselves:
"When I have more time, then I'll start."
"When it's fully ready, then I'll launch."
"When I'm more confident, then I'll take action."
But “perfect” never really arrives. It’s a moving target that keeps us paralyzed.
The truth is: done beats perfect every time.
Because once something is done, it can be improved.
Once a draft exists, it can be edited.
Once a product launches, it can be refined.
Once you take that first imperfect step, momentum builds.
God rarely calls the flawless — He calls the willing.
The first disciples weren’t perfect.
Moses wasn’t perfect.
David wasn’t perfect.
Paul had a past.
Yet God used them because they said yes, not because they were perfect.
Your calling isn’t waiting for perfection.
It’s waiting for your obedience.
👉 What is the next small, imperfect step you need to take today? Take it.
In fact, do it today, or better still, now.
God can’t multiply what you refuse to plant.
“Whoever watches the wind will not plant; whoever looks at the clouds will not reap.”
— Ecclesiastes 11:4
