A Little Escape to Talula Hill
We just got back from a short getaway to Talula Hill, and honestly—it was exactly what our little tribe needed.
The place is nestled in a hilly part of the countryside (yes, we got our daily steps in… and then some), and the heat was no joke. But even with the sun blazing, there was something peaceful and grounding about being surrounded by green pastures, bleating goats, and wide open skies.
The kids had an absolute blast.
It’s not every day they get to feed animals, run barefoot on real grass, or fall asleep to the sound of crickets instead of car horns. The farm stay was surprisingly child-friendly—safe, simple, and full of opportunities for hands-on fun. No iPads needed.
We even ate fresh off the farm - raw corn and even tiny mulberries.
What I appreciated most was the intentional slowness of it all. Life out there doesn’t rush. It reminded me how much we miss while we’re always racing somewhere.
Although there’s an inhouse cafe-restaurant there, we had the option of ordering in Grab meals and drinks, and it was so efficient, most of the deliveries came in 15+ minutes for full meals.
There was also structured daily activities for the whole family, such as
My personal favorite is star gazing, campfire and marshmallow roasting.
Would I go again? 100%.
Maybe during cooler weather (and I hear that in some months, there’s fresh fruits that you can eat once you pluck it such as mangosteen and rambutans too). That being said, even with the sweat and slopes, I’d take this kind of reset over a fancy resort any day.
Grateful for the chance to unplug, breathe, and be present with the people who matter most.
“He makes me lie down in green pastures, He leads me beside quiet waters, He restores my soul.”
