Why Entrepreneurship Is Good For You

Why entrepreneurship is good for you – there are just so, so, so many good points about entrepreneurship that I sometimes don’t know where to start.

1) You can earn more – $500/month, $1000/month or more, if correct niche is selected and scaled right. What will this extra income mean to you? Also…what if it can earn more than your current salary?

2) Entrepreneurship is a growth-hacker – it will force you to focus and grow so fast personally and professionally in such an intense way, but gosh, those who love to grow and learn, it’s awesome

3) Entrepreneurial skills are valuable – you can choose to teach this skill to your kids, get hired to make money as a consultant or just keep working in your own businesses.

4) Profitable businesses are valuable – you can scale them further, you can take them public, you can sell them for multiples of annual profits, give them to your kids – whatever.

5) Create jobs and a community and work culture that you love

6) You can meet more like-minded people and even may meet the person of your dreams. You may meet interesting people from all walks of life. Or not if you don’t want to.

7) Deal with boredom..and maybe get happier?

8) Increase natural confidence, leadership, communication etc

Entrepreneurship is so addictive to me because it hits so many of my spots, and I will likely never get sick of it – consider it, you may like it too =)

Earning More Money Is A Game

Earning more money is a game to me, and it has a few rules that once you understand, you’d get it.

I grew up in a poor to middle class family with our own stories of lack of money – I had a happy childhood, but I remember lots of stressful arguments my parents had about money, and at 10 years old, I remember making a promise to myself: that I will never let money be a problem for relationships, and that I will earn more than enough and have surplus.

I learnt that there are certain “rules” of earning money, earning more, and I’m still learning every day.

Rules of earning more money:

  1. The higher value you provide, the higher income you’d get. It’s like a $5 burger at McDonald’s versus a $100 burger at a high-end place. Different value. Choose a specific skill or industry that pays your the income you wish to earn.
  2. Mastery. The beginner or junior person will almost always earn less than the master in the same field; so your job is to master the job or skill.
  3. Process of Earning More Money:
    • Desire – you must desire to earn more, not just talk or brush it casually. Be serious with wanting to earn more money. It is a good thing to earn more.
    • Decide to earn more. This is to make a true decision and commitment that you will take the necessary actions in a consistent manner and with patience to work towards earning more (amount that you wish to earn)
    • Determine the pathways and process that you need to learn to earn the amount you want. An example is if you wish to earn $10,000 a month, and you’re currently earning $1,000 a month, find out how you can earn $2,000 a month. Then $3,000 a month. Then $5,000 a month. Then $10,000 and more a month. This could include learning a new skill, joining a new company etc.
    • Do the actions that you had determined to get you to how much you want to earn.

The real question is, are you committed and do you dare to dream to earn more?

Abundance And More Than Enough

There is abundance everywhere.

Abundance means to have more than enough money, time, love, generosity and more – of course there’s work involved, you cant have abundance without work…and once you truly get it, you’d realize the reason why abundance is everywhere is because it is about value creation that leads to wealth generation.

And it can happen wherever there is a need or demand – that’s it generally. Of course there’s more nuances, including doing the work, but that’s it from a very broad perspective.

Dont be fooled by people and companies who’s trying to instill fear in your so that you can work for them and do their bidding.

2X Immigration Leads To Practicality And Success

Immigration isn’t a new concept to me, and you know what, I am immensely grateful for the multiple immigration moves that we did in our lives.

Location wise, I had two large immigration movement from Seremban (Negeri Sembilan) to Johor (Uncle place for a few weeks) and then once more to Taman Tasik where we rented our own space and then to Permas Jaya when my dad could afford his own space. This itself is four movements.

Later I migrated to Singapore when I was 20, and from there, make large but calculated moves from employee to agency to single clinic to multi-clinic chan, and in the process get played out by unscrupulous landlords and business owners who just played the short game (that’s why many of them fail to grow big or fail to go public/IPO or others – it’s because they cut corners).

These immigration and other big moves are quite helpful to form my ability to survive and thrive amidst change, to look forward and anticipate good and important changes, and also, to move away from projects and people that are time-wasters and just out to cheat/play in the short term.

Stop Chasing Money

Stop chasing money.

Period.

Too many people prioritize money over health, relationships, people and even themselves.

And yes, money is important, but it is NOT more important than health, relationships and people. People who think that way are sad and one-dimensional. It doesn’t work that way, the world is interesting such that once you choose to do what is good and right, money will chase you.

And as long as you chase money, it will be elusive.

Don’t be deceived, God isn’t mocked or deceivable – He can see all things and at the end of days, we will have to account for all we do, right and wrong.

So repent and do things the right way, and chase after God – everything else, including money, will chase after you after.

Toxic Materialism

Buying dumb shit to impress others or to impress oneself or because someone told you to is not a smart idea.

It will not make you happy. It may make you feel powerful, but only for a fleeting moment.

If you have to choose between 2 or more careers or business ventures, choose whichever you align more with that brings you more joy, and does more good. Don’t just choose more money for the sake of more money.

There is always a price to pay, be it health, relationship with oneself or others, or something.

Do the right thing, and be at ease in your soul.

You Don’t Need A Lot Of Money To Be Happy

This is the 100% truth.

I’m 100% aware that we need money to have a roof over our heads, put food on the table, send kids and family to school and for medical care, of course; what I’m referring to is people making money their entire goal.

Which blindsides and distracts them from more important things in life, such as good health, good relationships etc.

You gotta to know yourself, and know what kind of lifestyle, stresses and happiness that YOU are wired for.

  • Some people love earning 6 and 7 figures, working 14-20 hour days – they revel and celebrate it.
  • Some prefer to work 9-5 and see their kids grow up or have side hobbies etc

The key is that you need to know what makes you happy.

One of the worst things to do is to try to become someone you’re not wired for, despite people saying that you just got to hustle and grind it through – you need to know yourself.

Beware The I-Need-A-Lot-Of-Money-To-Be-X Trap

This is just such a common trap be it we do it to ourselves, or it’s perpetuated by smart companies with similar thinking of using carrot-and-stick approach to lock in our best years to projects and work and even approaches that we don’t even agree with.

Good success is success that brings good, happiness, love and joy to ourselves and the world, without compromising ethics or people.

There is no point or good in achieving glory, money or success by throwing someone under the bus, lying or hurting them to get a profit or a benefit – it’s not good that way.

Good success is the sole thing that I’ve been obsessed with since 2005, that we cannot profit by doing stuff that is unethical or goes against our values (or at least we wont do to our loved ones) and that’s why I’ve turned down money to do or work with unscrupulous people or organizations.

I create these videos for my loved ones, children, family and friends and for you too, in the hope that it will help you improve your life as I document my pursuit and progress of my obsession with good success.
